Amanda Glanville
Amanda is a Maker of Tiny Glass Stuff.
She’s on a mission is to reclaim the tradition of making kitsch ‘little glass animals’ and other objects to reinvent them for the present day as quirky, affordable collectables for the smallest domestic spaces and gardens.
She is the inventor of The Great Glass Advent Calendar - since 2014 an annual institution on Instagram with 24 new pieces made to count down each December!
Using the meticulous lamp work technique or melting glass, she is well known for her approachable, colourful and often humorous mini sculptures which include: crows, skulls, retro rockets, ice lollies, teapots, sheep, and many audience suggestions too numerous to mention.
Her work elicits squeaks of delight from young and old, and everyone is encouraged to peer closer using a lovely old magnifying glass. She 'stages' her work in small scenes, telling stories and offering visitors the chance to handle and interact with her tiny glass stuff.
